Dr. Jeffrey J. Roth and his team in Las Vegas, NV find that many women who are considering breast augmentation may also benefit from integrating a breast lift as well. Both breast augmentation and breast lifts are popular procedures performed to improve the contours of the body, increasing breast size for a more desirable appearance. Additionally, women who have excess skin and sagging breasts who undergo this procedure may also qualify for a breast lift.

What is included in a breast augmentation and breast lift procedure?

Breast augmentation increases the size and volume of the breasts with the use of silicone or saline breast implants. The breast lift, on the other hand, removes excess skin that might be caused by the breasts increasing and decreasing in size, such as with pregnancy or breastfeeding, and the natural sagging that can occur naturally with age. During the breast augmentation and lift procedure, the implants are placed and any excess skin is removed. Many women will also have their areola and nipple area repositioned as well to a more youthful height on the chest.

What can I expect for recovery?

At Dr. Jeffrey J. Roth Plastic Surgery, we educate patients on what they can expect in terms of recovery and healing following their breast augmentation and lift surgery. Patients will need to wear a special support bra following the procedure, and can expect the breasts to feel sore. There will be some degree of bruising, swelling, and discomfort which will resolve on its own with time. Many patients will arrange approximately a week off of work, and those who participate in strenuous activity will need to avoid for about 4-6 weeks post-op.
