Las Vegas Plastic Surgery: Jeffrey J. Roth M.D. F.A.C.S.

This is a common question that we get in the office. Like most things in Plastic Surgery, it really depends on the individual. The differences in the physical implants are discussed under the Breast Augmentation portion of our website, https://www.jjrothmd.com/surgical/breast-augmentation-las-vegas/

How to choose:

First, what are the goals? A “natural” look? A “fake” look? More volume? More projection? Is a natural feel important?

Next, what does the individual’s tissue look like? Does the skin stretch or sag? Where is the nipple areola complex on the breast? Are there already scars present? How much natural breast tissue is present?

Then it is time to see how to try and reach the goals, given the tissue you have to work with. The implant is part of this planning. Currently our office does about 80% silicone and 20% saline implants. The silicone implants we use are the cohesive gel implants, (the gummy type implants that you have been hearing about).

Silicone:

  • Look and feel more natural.
  • Less rippling on outer edges, (important with thin or very athletic patients).

Saline:

  • Less expensive.
  • Easier to detect any leaks.

Many women, (especially in Las Vegas), have irst, what are the goals? A “natural” look? A “fake” look? More volume? More projection? Is a natural feel important?

Many women, (especially in Las Vegas), have breast augmentation surgery to achieve the silhouette they desire. This is especially true after having babies, weight gain or loss, and the passage of time. Sometimes a breast lift, (mastopexy), is needed to get the desired result.

Best to see a Board-Certified Plastic Surgeon. They will listen to your goals, evaluate your tissues, and formulate a plan to be safe and effective. Our office performs many of these procedures.
