Although plastic and cosmetic surgery is still an industry that is dominated by female patients, more men are seeking out plastic surgery procedures to improve their appearance and self-esteem. Statistics recently released by the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) indicate male cosmetic procedures that are highly popular in the United States.

We referenced 2020 data highlighting popular male cosmetic procedures as noted by ASPS member physicians who participated in the annual study. We’re highlighting the following plastic surgery procedures from the study that are frequently requested by our Las Vegas, NV, male patient base:
1. Rhinoplasty – A “nose job” can help your facial proportions and boost self-confidence.
2. Eyelid Surgery – Also called “blepharoplasty,” this procedure repairs loose, sagging skin and bags around the upper and/or lower eyelids to help you look more refreshed.
3. Liposuction – Also called “lipo,” or “liposculpture,” this procedure removes stubborn, unwanted fat and sculpts the body with amazing results for men and women alike.
4. Earlobe Reduction Surgery – This procedure helps restore your self-confidence by correcting overly protruding earlobes.
5. Male Breast Reduction – Feeling self-conscious about “man boobs” (Gynecomastia) can tarnish your body image, but male breast reduction can restore your confidence and virility.
We would also like to point out that male cheek implant procedures and facelifts ranked quite highly within the ASPS study. In addition to surgical procedures, minimally invasive treatments such as BOTOX® Cosmetic and laser skin resurfacing were also highly ranked.
Male Plastic Surgery Trends
The profile of the male patient seen in the plastic surgeon’s office is changing. Today, it is less the movie star and more the average middle-aged man who wants to look revitalized. Contemporary male plastic surgery patients are fit, financially stable, and usually outpace their younger male counterparts. They live youthful lives and do not want to look old or tired. At our Las Vegas cosmetic surgery practice, about 10% of our patients are male. The number of male patients we see in Las Vegas is consistent with the national figure average. Modern cosmetic procedures have removed the stigma for men going into a plastic surgeon’s office, and today there are a variety of treatments that help men regain their youthful appearance
