Woman after BOTOX® treatment. (Model)

BOTOX is a nonsurgical wrinkle treatment that softens expression lines by relaxing targeted facial muscles. It is one of the most widely performed cosmetic procedures because it delivers natural-looking results with minimal downtime and no surgery.

At our Las Vegas practice, we use BOTOX strategically to smooth dynamic wrinkles while preserving natural facial expression. Treatment plans are customized to each patient’s anatomy, muscle strength, and aesthetic goals.

What are dynamic wrinkles?

Dynamic wrinkles are lines that form due to repeated facial movements over time. These wrinkles are most visible when you smile, frown, squint, or raise your eyebrows, and may eventually become visible even at rest.

Common areas affected include:

  • Horizontal forehead lines
  • Frown lines between the eyebrows (glabellar lines or “11s”)
  • Crow’s feet around the eyes

BOTOX is specifically designed to treat these types of wrinkles by addressing the muscle activity that causes them.

How does BOTOX work?

BOTOX is a neurotoxin that has a prescription ingredient known as botulinum toxin type A. When this neurotoxin is injected into the muscles of the face that contract and result in the development of wrinkles and folds, it can reduce their appearance as the facial muscles relax. Patients can achieve a more youthful appearance quickly and easily with BOTOX injections, and the results typically last for approximately three months or longer.

Why do patients choose BOTOX injections?

Patients often choose Botox because it offers:

  • No incisions or anesthesia
  • Treatment sessions typically lasting 15–30 minutes
  • Little to no downtime
  • Predictable, temporary results

BOTOX can be used as a standalone treatment or as part of a broader facial rejuvenation plan.

Botox results timeline: When will you see results?

BOTOX doesn’t produce immediate results. Results develop gradually as the treated muscles begin to relax.

Days 1–2
You may notice mild redness or swelling at injection sites, which typically resolves quickly.

Days 3–5
Early softening of treated lines may begin to appear.

Days 7–14
Full results are visible. Wrinkles appear smoother, and facial expression looks more relaxed without stiffness.

3–4 Months
Botox results gradually wear off as muscle activity returns. Maintenance treatments are typically recommended every 3 to 4 months.

Factors that can affect the duration of your results include muscle strength and facial movement patterns, the treatment area, your metabolism, and the consistency of your treatments.

Combining treatments to enhance BOTOX results

BOTOX treats dynamic wrinkles, but it does not address volume loss, skin laxity, or surface texture. For more comprehensive rejuvenation, BOTOX is often combined with other treatments.

Dermal Fillers

Dermal fillers restore volume and smooth static wrinkles that are present even when the face is at rest. Fillers can be used to:

  • Restore cheek volume
  • Soften smile lines
  • Enhance lips or facial contours

Laser and Energy-Based Treatments

Laser resurfacing and light-based treatments improve skin tone, texture, and sun damage—concerns Botox does not treat. Combining Botox with laser treatments can improve overall skin quality while maintaining smooth expression lines.

Medical-Grade Skincare

Professional skincare, including retinoids and sun protection, supports long-term results and helps prevent the formation of new wrinkles.
