Las Vegas is a town where the appearance of one’s hands matters.  Table dealers, VIP waitresses, front desk staff, singers, entertainers, and executives all have their hands in view of the public.  The hands are an essential part of what customers see.  Many people in Las Vegas have inquired as to how they can give their hands a more youthful appearance.  This is especially true of folks who are older and have had lots of sun exposure over the years.

In China people look at earlobes, but in the United States the hands are often one of the true tell-tale signs of aging.  As we age, we lose fullness of soft tissue throughout the body, especially in the face and hands.  The same cosmetic techniques that allow us to improve the face can also be applied to the hands.  Filling agents, such as Restylane, Juvederm, Radiesse, and Sculptra, can be used in an off-label fashion to restore youthful volume to hands with impressive results.

Spots and solar damage on hands can also be addressed with various crèmes, peels, and cosmetic laser treatments, depending on the extent of damage and how aggressive one wants to get with treatment.

Board certified plastic surgeons are the perfect medical specialists to address this need as every one of them has had extensive training on the anatomy, pathology, and surgical repair of the hand.  Some plastic surgeons, including myself, further their education with a Hand Fellowship.  Your hands are instrumental in doing any type of work.  If appearance or cosmetic problems are an issue with your hands, you should enlist a doctor with extensive knowledge about the hands who is also experienced with working on them. Plastic Surgeons are also acutely aware of the intricacies of skin aesthetics and what needs to be done to achieve the best results to rejuvenate your hands.

Putting your best hand forward has never been more possible.  Modern modalities give us the tools to improve this very public, and often uncovered, part of our body.
