Las Vegas Plastic Surgery
Freeze your unwanted fat away with CoolSculpting… sounds like a fantasy, right? Wrong.
I am here to tell you that it’s a highly effective method for eliminating stubborn pockets of fat. For good. Without surgery and without downtime. We were so impressed with CoolSculpting, we bought TWO machines, and were the first practice in Las Vegas to offer our patients “DualSculpting.” This means you get done in HALF the TIME.
When patients ask me why I love my chosen profession, one of the big reasons is that we are constantly coming up with new ways of doing things. Up until 2010 when CoolSculpting was FDA approved for treating the abdomen, flanks and thighs, the only way for you to get rid of fat that was resistant to diet and exercise was liposuction. Now, liposuction is definitely effective, and we do a significant amount of it, but it requires anesthesia, time for recovery, and wearing a compression garment for a couple of months. This can make it less appealing for some patients.
CoolSculpting, on the other hand, requires no downtime. You can do it on your lunch hour. Now, the results won’t be immediate, but they can be quite dramatic. CoolSculpting works by safely and precisely freezing the fat in the targeted areas. The fat cells die, and are eventually eliminated by the body. The technology came about when two scientists at Harvard noticed that when kids ate popsicles, they got dimples in their cheeks because the cold was freezing away small pockets of fat. Again, you gotta love science. I can’t think of another profession where a revolutionary new body contouring procedure is born out of frozen fruity snacks. Genius.
So, CoolSculpting and liposuction both work. The right choice is really going to depend on your needs which is why it’s important to be evaluated by a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon. A proper in person assessment gives you the necessary information to make the best decision for you.
At Las Vegas Plastic Surgery, our CoolSculpting room is as comfortable as any spa with reclining chairs, and the kind of soft lightening that’s instantly relaxing. Most folks settle in, watch Netflix or use our complementary iPad to surf the web, catch up on emails, even do some work if you’re so inclined. So, really, what are you waiting for?
