  • James “Whitey” Bulger Captured

    After 16 years of searching and soliciting help from plastic surgeons and media like the Wall Street Journal, the FBI captured long-time "most wanted" fugitive James “Whitey”  Bugler, 81 and his Girlfriend, Catherine Greig, 60, in Santa Monica, CA on June 25th, 2011.  Bugler had been on the most wanted list for 16 years. It is reported that FBI agents found $500,000 cash and several weapons in the apartment.  He has since been transported back to Boston. He has been denied bail.

    The FBI had taken unusual steps to find Bulger, including taking out a “Have You Seen This Person” ad in a Plastic Surgery trade journal in the hope of having a plastic surgeon identify him or his girlfriend.  His girlfriend was known to have undergone plastic surgery in the past.
